Grade 3 Common Core Math Practice

The focus in Grade 3 is on the following four critical areas:

  • Developing understanding of multiplication and division and strategies for multiplication and division within 100
  • Developing understanding of fractions, especially unit fractions (fractions with numerator 1)
  • Developing understanding of the structure of rectangular arrays and of area
  • Describing and analyzing two-dimensional shapes

Overview of Grade 3 Standards

Operations and Algebraic Thinking

  • Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division(3.OA.A.1, 3.OA.A.2, 3.OA.A.3, 3.OA.A.4)
